A Poetic Guide to American Accounting - a poem for the concept of American approach of rules of debit and credit
A Poetic Guide to American Accounting
A Poetic Guide to American Accounting
In lands of commerce,
where profits gleam,
A system guides the financial stream.
The American approach,
a modern sight,
With rules that govern day and night.
Five categories,
a framework sound,
Assets, liabilities, on sacred ground.
Capital, revenue, expenses too,
A balance sheet, a financial view.
Increase in assets, a debit's plea,
Decrease, a credit, freely.
Expenses rise, a debit's claim,
Decrease, a credit, just the same.
Liabilities grow, a credit's grace,
Decrease, a debit, in its place.
Capital swells, a credit's might,
Decrease, a debit, takes its flight.
Revenue soars, a credit's cheer,
Decrease, a debit, dispels its fear.
These rules, a compass, guiding way,
Through financial realms, from day to day.
